Here we are, in the thick of Morel and Porcini Season.

MORELS

It's been a strange season, because spring came really late this year. One week we're completely out, then all of a sudden we find ourselves grading over 200 lbs. of freshly picked morels, just when we thought the season was over. Our unexpected rain and thunderstorms caused them to pop up, giving buyers an extra spurt on this short seasonal crop. So give us a call (888) 465-3247 and we'll fedex them out for you - but hurry, because they won't last long!

Are you familiar with the term "burn morels?...... Those are morels that grow in the soil from the forest fires..... Burns sometimes produce morels all summer long in more northern states, and sometimes into Sept! We are quickly running out of morels, as it has gotten warm here in Oregon. If we get another dose of rain, we might see more pop up, but it is looking as though we are nearing the end of another great morel season.... until next year morels.

Some pickers will begin to move to the northern states to continue the hunt, and some locals will soon start to focus on the fall varieties such as chanterelles and porcinis!

PORCINIS

We have experienced a great bumper crop of Porcinis this year, however they seem to be quickly coming to an end.† Some of the higher elevation mushrooms might still have a season, but we will just have to wait and see what mother nature brings us! Same as with morels, if the weather gets cool, we might see another small flush soon, but if the weather remains hot, we will have to wait until September for the coastal porcinis season!† Please give a call with any questions or to get on our list of contacts to pre-order for next season or to see what other yummy fungi we have to offer!
